To Deal with Myanmar, Sanctions don’t work

The violence in Myanmar does not seem to stop anytime soon. The military junta has been using excessive force and killing it people including monks.

Earlier this week, President Bush imposed economic sanction on 14 identified senior Myanmar government officials, NY Times reported. With this announcement, the international pressure to take action in Myanmar is on. However, the economic sanctions alone don’t work.

So fat, the Myanmar military junta is blocking the internet access so reporters can’t send images out to the world. Also, the Chinese government has blocked the U.S and Europeans countries to have the Security Council “condemn the violent crackdown,” NY Times reported.

Demonstrations asking for justice and actions in Myanmar are everywhere. Yet, no one seems to take any further action besides economic sanctions.

The point is this, economic sanctions don’t work to deal with dangerous military junta which senselessly killed innocent people and monks who are demanding for Democracy. To me, killing a monk is a most sinful action that you could do as a Buddhist. It is time for international to realize that economic sanctions don’t work when it comes to this kind of situation. Therefore, the use of force is a must.

Connie Talbot dropped from Sony BGM

The 6 year-old sensation from the Britain’s Got Talent will likely not be releasing an album by December as speculated.

The Sony BGM  boss Simon Cowell quietly axed Connie Talbot from the record company last month. According to the People.co.uk, Talbot was sad and kept questioning why Cowell did not want her to sing anymore.

The People UK is the only one that broke story about this a month ago. However, there are no other reports about Talbot at this point.

Here is the link to the story.

Ahmadinejad Welcome to U.S.A

From Washington Post.

What is wrong with Ahmadinejad coming to the U.S. and visiting Columbia University?

The United States of America seems to be very afraid of Ahmandinejad coming to the United States. First, he can’t visit the ground zero because he is an Iranian President. Second, Americans don’t like with the idea of the Iranian President to speak to Columbia University students and professors on Monday September 24th.

Some news critics and bloggers are comparing Ahmadinejad’s visit to the ground zero as Hitler’s visit to the U.S. which is a ridiculous comparison.

Ahmadinejad is entitled to visit the Ground Zero. However, he feels about it, it’s his opinion. He may feel as the “winner” or feel “proud” in seeing the Twin Towers collapse, but that is his opinion. What the United States government ant the NYC Police Department did by denying him the admission to the Ground Zero is not right. The U.S. government is treating Ahmadinejad like he is a terrorist. There are significant evidence that he may have funded and supported terrorists groups, according the various news reports and U.S agencies. However, if he actually is a terrorist, why not arrest him? He is going to be in NYC in a few days.

In regards to Ahmadinejad’s coming to Columbia University, there is nothing wrong with it whatsoever. The Americans, Fox news and a whole bunch of conservatives are afraid of him talking to American students on his views such as Holocaust and nuclear weapons. C’mon, it’s not like Ahmadinejad carries a personal remote in the U.S soil.

Rather, the President of Columbia university has made the right decision for inviting Ahmadinejad to speak. This is a great opportunity for students who are interested in international politics to ask him questions on his views, and his government.

So, Ahmadinejad welcome to the United States.

Trust me…the McCanns didn’t kill Madeleine

The world was stunned when the Portuguese police called Madeleine McCann’s parents arguidos which means suspects for possibly murdering the 4 year old.

Since the disappearance of the 4 year old in May, the Portuguese police has done a terrible job in handling this case. To me, it is Portuguese police’s desperate move to close this case that has been going on for months. If the McCanns were really suspects or murderers of the disappearance of their child, why didn’t the police interrogate them thoroughly? Also since Madeleine made the news,  the parents have been under scope of media. They go onto many news channels asking for their children safe return.

According to new reports, there was a blood trace of Madeleine in the McCann’s rental car 25 days after their daughter vanished. This had caused the police to believe that, especially, Kate McCann, the mother, is a suspect because she appeared to be lack of emotion when she discuss about her 4 year old daughter. Wow…

To me, I still believe the McCanns are innocent until proven guilty. It is very hard to believe as to why would they want to kill their kid and why cover it up for so long.  Today’s development about on Madeleine is not going to make me change my mind about the McCanns. Simply, the Portuguese police is desperate to find a way to close the case as soon as possible before others can find their flaws about their procedure of investigating this case.

The New Bin Laden tape Is Out…

We don’t have to wait until September 11th anymore.

The tape is out. What Bin Laden said on the video was pretty much close to what I predict last night. Basically, he invited the Americans to convert to Muslims which is unlikely to happen because there are churches in every corner of the U.S. Bin Laden talked about the war in Iraq that it is part of the war against extremists. At the same time, he said the war in Iraq was unjust. That sentence alone has made Bush look bad, right? Even Bin Laden doesn’t even support for the war in Iraq. This means, this guy knows Bush went on the war in the wrong place and should not have attacked in Iraq.

Clearly, this tape has prove the fail of President Bush’s policy. Bin Laden is still alive and yet we are going onto war in Iraq in which Bin Laden doesn’t hide there. Perhaps, it is time for the President to focus on the war in Afghanistan not Iraq.

The New Bin Laden Tape Is Coming Out on 9/11/07

Have you ever wondered what Osama Bin Laden will say on his new tape?

According to the CNN report, Bin Laden is planning to release a new video on Tuesday September 11 2007 which is the sixth year anniversary of the tragedy on the U.S soil.  Many news networks are expecting Bin Laden’s new tape would be nothing more than a propaganda. It would also be a slap in Bush’s face that the War on terror is not successful because the U.S hasn’t been  able to catch this man because of a useless, waste of time war in Iraq.

Here is my prediction on his upcoming tape (However, I can be wrong): Bin Laden will more likely to say that he is planning to attack the U.S soil again and that Bush will never catch him (which is true, come to think about the fact that Bush has less than 500 days in the White House).   He will probably mention about the new U.S President and call for more radical Muslims to work for Al-Qaeda. Now, let me turn the floor to you, what do you think Bin Laden will say on his new tape?

Senator Craig, if you can, please go to Mars

If you remember the 2004 U.S Presidential election between George Bush and John Kerry, Bush called his opponent a “flip-flop” because Kerry changed his position on issues from time to time. The term “flip-flop” embarrassed the Democratic party during that time. Fast forward three years later, this term is now backfires on the Republican party.

Face it! Some of the Republican politicians are gay. They just don’t admit it because they don’t want to lose their votes. From Mark Foley to now Senator Larry Craig with the bathroom incident, it is now known who the real “flip-flop” is, right? What happened in the bathroom between a police officer and Senator Craig was disgusting.

When you sign up to be a public figure, you know that privacy is taken away from you. Everyone is watching you constantly. Despite his reasons for pleading guilty, no one knows the actual explanation as to why Sen. Craig acted the way he did. The damage was done when the senator pleaded guilty. Therefore, it is too late to fix it. Many Republicans are dying to have Craig out of the office because the party wants to move on. So, please senator Craig, don’t reconsider not to resign. It’s embarrassing already that you got arrest in an airport bathroom. If you can, go to Mars, you need it to fix your image.

Also, if you are gay, let the world know. We will always love you, but really?
