Torre & A-Rod Gone- The Yankees Fallout Continues

It is hard not to talk about the New York Yankees these days.

So what that the Boston Red Sox won the World Series? The news headline that will dominate morning newspapers is Alex Rodriguez who has decided to opt out of his $252 million contract.

Rodriguez’s decision to leave the Yankees is not a surprise after Joe Torre left the team two weeks ago. According to his agent, A-Rod doesn’t want to be on the team because he is uncertain whether his close teammates are returning to the Yankees. His desire to play else where has shown that he is not satisfy with the team management. A-Rod would have stayed in NY if Torre was still with the Yankees. However, this is not the case anymore.

With Torre and A-Rod gone, what is next for the Yankees? More likely, there will be more players quitting the team. This will include Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada and Andy Pettitte.

Only time can tell if these three players want to come back as Yankees. They heavily make their decisions based on Torre’s departure.

Let’s wait and see….

Free Aung San Suu Kyi Now!

Pro-Democracy and Nobel Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi met with military junta leader today according to the New York Times.

The meeting is a symbolic gesture in response to the international community about the violence in late September. Burmese military junta is still in power and continues to use violence against people who want democracy in the country. Clearly, the junta is not going to step down anytime soon. Suu Kyi will always remain in the house arrest as long as the military junta is in power.

Today’s meeting doesn’t mean anything. Overall, it’s a staged meeting in which to show the soft side of the Burmese military junta.

Aung San Suu Kyi won the election in 1990 and has never served as Burmese Prime Minister. The junta placed her under house arrest because the junta leaders are afraid of losing power to a woman who has great visions for her beloved country, Burma.

It is time for the international community to come together and pressure the military junta to free Suu Kyi. She will be the first step towards democracy in Burma if she is freed.

Britney Spears’ new album preview

Despite a horrible music video, Britney Spears is manage to survive all the criticisms by the media and bloggers including me. Spears’ new album is coming out on October 30th. Let me tell you, This album will worth your money.

The majority of her songs reminds me of Fergie but who cares? Spears’ 12 new songs are better than I expected. There are more catchy songs and beats than her old ones.  I like all of them.

I give it 7/10 just because she kind of copied Fergie’s music style.

If you want to listen to her new album, Blackout, click here

Bush, How Much More Do You Want?

From: Theocracywatch.org

It seems the Bush administration doesn’t want to end the war anytime soon.

President Bush has asked for $42.3 billion in addition to a request of $147 billion  for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. This brings the 2008 request for war funding to $189.3 billion.

It is clear that the president is out of touch with the reality. No matter how much money the U.S is willing to spend for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the violence in those country will not stop. Situations there will not get any better unless the U.S sends a strong message to leaders in those countries to get their acts together.

I don’t want taxpayers money to go to waste. The Bush administration has spent enough money onto these wars.  It is time for politicians to spend money in the right place and end the wars.

Colbert for President?

The 2008 election is about to get more interesting.

Comedian Stephen Colbert announced his presidential pursuit on “The Daily Report” and “The Colbert Report” last night. Colbert said that he would run in his native state, South Carolina in both Democratic and Republican primaries.

I don’t know if this comedian will have a shot in winning South Carolina. First, it is too late to enter. Secondly, what is Colbert platform anyway? Third, look at Fred Thompson! He is struggling to get people to vote for him.

Colbert, it’s never too late to think again.

Britney Spears’ New Music Video is soo…BAD

It’s out and it’s a trash!

Britney Spears’ new music video for her upcoming album “Gimme More” is horrible. Don’t get me wrong, I love the song. However, I was hoping that her music video would be a blast one for a comeback but I was wrong on this one. It seems like this music video is made for Youtube viewers only. It has no direction. Probably, the director used a cheap camcorder and an inexpensive editing program. No wonder why “Gimme More” is now “Gimme Less.”

It’s a horrible MV.

See it for yourself!

Sen. Craig, just quit it okay?

A judge has rejected Senator Larry Craig’s bid to withdraw his guilty plead in a sex sting case. However, the Idaho senator will not resign from the position as he intended to despite today’s development.

Senator Craig should have kept his words that he promised back in August. The senator is doing a wrong thing by backing out of his announcement to resign. The Republican party will definitely continue to pressure him to leave the office. So, why can’t Craig just do his party a favor? Quit it. The party is already struggling with the Presidential election. No one wants you around. Senator Craig, please resign and go back to your hometown.
