Ahmadinejad Welcome to U.S.A

From Washington Post.

What is wrong with Ahmadinejad coming to the U.S. and visiting Columbia University?

The United States of America seems to be very afraid of Ahmandinejad coming to the United States. First, he can’t visit the ground zero because he is an Iranian President. Second, Americans don’t like with the idea of the Iranian President to speak to Columbia University students and professors on Monday September 24th.

Some news critics and bloggers are comparing Ahmadinejad’s visit to the ground zero as Hitler’s visit to the U.S. which is a ridiculous comparison.

Ahmadinejad is entitled to visit the Ground Zero. However, he feels about it, it’s his opinion. He may feel as the “winner” or feel “proud” in seeing the Twin Towers collapse, but that is his opinion. What the United States government ant the NYC Police Department did by denying him the admission to the Ground Zero is not right. The U.S. government is treating Ahmadinejad like he is a terrorist. There are significant evidence that he may have funded and supported terrorists groups, according the various news reports and U.S agencies. However, if he actually is a terrorist, why not arrest him? He is going to be in NYC in a few days.

In regards to Ahmadinejad’s coming to Columbia University, there is nothing wrong with it whatsoever. The Americans, Fox news and a whole bunch of conservatives are afraid of him talking to American students on his views such as Holocaust and nuclear weapons. C’mon, it’s not like Ahmadinejad carries a personal remote in the U.S soil.

Rather, the President of Columbia university has made the right decision for inviting Ahmadinejad to speak. This is a great opportunity for students who are interested in international politics to ask him questions on his views, and his government.

So, Ahmadinejad welcome to the United States.

What to look forward to in 2007

What to look forward to in 2007? So many things…

Let’s start with the American politics

  • There will a number of politicians announce their interests in running for President in 2008.
  • President Bush will see more of his people leaving the White House if he continues to be stubborn about the war in Iraq. Just admit the failure already.
  • Are the Democrats ready to take over? What is this party of going to do? So far, I have not heard the party’s agenda on what they are planning to do. I wonder how this party is going to shape the American politics especially on the war on middle-class, immigration, and of course, the war in Iraq.

 International politics

  • I would like to see how will the 47 Africans nation work with China. Will this 1.9 billion in aid and trade agreement improve their lives of Africans? My prediction is that it will not work. Corruption and civil war conflicts will stop Africa from growing politically, economically and socially.
  • Will North Korea launch the second nuclear weapon test? According various news sources, Kim Jong-il is planning to do it again early 2007.
  • Will the Six-party talks contiune? Right now, it is not going anywhere because North Korea will not comply to any agreement unless the United States lifts the U.N sanctions and allows North Korea to access its bank account.
  • I have a feeling that Castro and Chavez are up to something. I don’t know what exactly it is but we should keep an eye on them.
  • Will Brazil able to control its gas prices? I know that Brazil is energy independent because it produces and uses Ethanol as its fuel. However, the gasoline prices is about 5 dollars per gallon. This causes many poor people to buy gases in Venezuela which about 12 cents per gallon and it creates black market for cheap gasoline.
  • How is Iran going to respond after the United Nations slapped Iraq with sanctions earlier this week? Will it launch the nuclear test like North Korea?
  • The election in Iraq: Will Ahmadinejad will the election?

Let’s move on to something light

Sports

  • Will Iverson and Camelo Anthony lead Nuggets to the NBA finals?
  • All charges against Duke’s Lacrosse players will be dropped completely by the end of January or early February of 2007. Why? Simple, the prosecutors can’t find enough evidence to convict three players.
  • Will T.O grow up?
  • Reggie Bush or Vince Young? Who will be the rookie of the year?

Entertainment

  • Will celebrities adopt more international kids? It’s like every superstar is doing it.
  • Will there be more good movies? This year there aren’t many movies I like.
  • Last but not least, can Britney Spears be a good mother once and for all.

Now, it’s my turn to ask you. What are you looking forward to in 2007?

What Was Ahmadinejad Thinking?

What is this man thinking? According to the Reuters’ report, the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wrote a five-page letter to President Bush, asking him to withdraw U.S troops in
Iraq. This came in response to yesterday Bush’s announcement that he will not pull out the U.S troops until Iraq is stabilized.

In Ahmadinejad’s letter, Americans are sick of the war in Iraq. He then went on to say the 2006 Congressional election outcome should be a signal for Bush to take actions about Iraq and to realize that the Americans aren’t happy with his administration.Ahmadinejad’s intention of writing this letter is to tell President Bush that he is not a great leader and to leave Iraq for the sake of his people. It is sad for all Americans to hear this from their enemy about their president’s failure to do what they want. Many Americans want Bush to have some sort of a plan to end the war in Iraq and to bring the U.S soldiers home. Don’t get me wrong, I agree it is not right for Iranian President to say such thing. However, Bush needs a wake- up call. He doesn’t seem to get it from the Americans then, he has to get it the hard way.
