The New Bin Laden tape Is Out…

We don’t have to wait until September 11th anymore.

The tape is out. What Bin Laden said on the video was pretty much close to what I predict last night. Basically, he invited the Americans to convert to Muslims which is unlikely to happen because there are churches in every corner of the U.S. Bin Laden talked about the war in Iraq that it is part of the war against extremists. At the same time, he said the war in Iraq was unjust. That sentence alone has made Bush look bad, right? Even Bin Laden doesn’t even support for the war in Iraq. This means, this guy knows Bush went on the war in the wrong place and should not have attacked in Iraq.

Clearly, this tape has prove the fail of President Bush’s policy. Bin Laden is still alive and yet we are going onto war in Iraq in which Bin Laden doesn’t hide there. Perhaps, it is time for the President to focus on the war in Afghanistan not Iraq.

The New Bin Laden Tape Is Coming Out on 9/11/07

Have you ever wondered what Osama Bin Laden will say on his new tape?

According to the CNN report, Bin Laden is planning to release a new video on Tuesday September 11 2007 which is the sixth year anniversary of the tragedy on the U.S soil.  Many news networks are expecting Bin Laden’s new tape would be nothing more than a propaganda. It would also be a slap in Bush’s face that the War on terror is not successful because the U.S hasn’t been  able to catch this man because of a useless, waste of time war in Iraq.

Here is my prediction on his upcoming tape (However, I can be wrong): Bin Laden will more likely to say that he is planning to attack the U.S soil again and that Bush will never catch him (which is true, come to think about the fact that Bush has less than 500 days in the White House).   He will probably mention about the new U.S President and call for more radical Muslims to work for Al-Qaeda. Now, let me turn the floor to you, what do you think Bin Laden will say on his new tape?

The Democrats did not fail, they just do what’s right.

Last night, the Congress passed a bill that would continue to fund the war in Iraq. Many anti-war bloggers have been criticized all night as to how the Democratic party failed them. If they have the time to think about the bill for a second, maybe these critics change their mind.

This bill is an emergency bill that would provide about 100 billion dollars for funding the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan through Sept. 30, the end of the 2007 fiscal year. Aside from this, it approved to increase the minimum wage from 5. 15 dollars to about 7.25 an hour and along with 20 billion dollars in domestic spending. Overall, the bill sets a some sort of a timeline  for the Bush administration to come up with the new strategy for the wars by September. Also, it sets a condition for the Iraqi government must meet, however, the bill does not specifically explain what the conditions are. While many anti-war voters feel disappointed with the Democrats, I would say that the party is doing what is right for the country, which is supporting our troops. Through the eyes of politicians, would you like it if the American troops are fighting in Iraq with proper funds and equipment? This bill put the Democrats in a tough position; to support the troops or listen to their voters.

As much as I against the War in Iraq and want the troops to get out there so badly, this bill gives 4 months for President Bush to come up with the new strategy on how to deal with the war in Iraq. He knows that the Americans are frustrated. It is his last chance to prove to Americans and the rest of the world that he is competent leader (which I don’t think he is in the first place). I believe the Democrats are still pushing for a time line of troop withdrawal agenda. Trust me, expect to hear from the Democrats soon after this.

This time, they lost because the Republicans supports it. Believe me, they will make a great come back from this.

Why close Guantanamo (Part II)

 From Freethefive.org

I thought by showing the British movie “The Road to Guantanamo” would give a clean cut reason why the Guantanamo Bay prison camp should be closed without my explanation. Little did I know, I was wrong.

For those who don’t have the time to watch the entire movie, it is about three British men(aka the Tipton three because they’re from Tipton, England)’s trip to a wedding in Pakistan and their unplanned journey to Afghanistan  which led to their capture by the Northern Alliance in 2001. The three men were detained as enemy combatants at the Guantanamo Bay prison camp. The movie shows the conditions of the Guantanamo prisoners and the treatments they received from the U.S military.

I believe the Guantanamo Bay should be closed because according to the Amnesty International,  none of the Guantanamo detainees have been convicted on any charges. These people are held against their will and presumed guilty by the U.S military. Hundreds of them including the Tipton three have been released without charges. The camp is holding innocent prisoners until they confess to a crime that they have no idea. It would be nice if you can put yourself into their shoes. Do you like being locked up for something that you didn’t do?

To say the American can lock up and interrogate anybody it wants and there’s no point for the closure of the Guantanamo Bay is ignorant. There are many prison camps similar to the Guantanamo that we don’t know about. However, if we can work together to shut one down, we can close other ones as well. It takes media, research groups and  non-governmental organizations to help expose inhumane actions by powerful countries such as the United States.

What will happen after the closure of the Guantanamo Bay? What would it change? It is very hard to answer at the moment. All I know is this, if it closed, the prisoners who are in Cuba right now would be free and go back to their families. These people would tell their stories to the media. Definitely, the reputation of the United States would be broken into pieces. The U.S will not be powerful like it used to. It will show that U.S is not a great country and is no different from other major human rights violators.

Why the Airstrike in Somalia was necessary

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?

How can anyone that is American, or atleast sensible for that matter, go on this site and criticize the airstrike in Somalia?  I mean, that is just unfathomable to me!  America was given the permission, the blessing, by the Somali Government to launch an airstrike against poeple that are affiliated with a group that is wreaking terror around the world and trying to overthrow a moderate, nationalist regime.

America would be stupid to not take advantage of this opportunity to anayalate an enemy that is threatening to extend its influence throughout the Horn of Africa.   The stability of this region is imperative in ensuring that Al-Qaeda does not extend its influence and gain more sympathizers.  Also, if radical islamists gain control in this region, they will virtually surround Isreal from all sides, which would pose a great threat to a nation that has been invaded or provoked into war over 8 times in its 58 year history.

This move also shows that we are fighting a global war on terror, and not just one in Iraq.   We need to ensure that extremism is faught wherever it exists, until teh threat is subdued.  This airstrike also shows our enemies [muslim extremists and Iran] that we are willing to fight these Islamic extremists or those who oppose the free world wherever they seek to find the freedom to plan and commit terror or war.

Why airstrike in Somalia?

How do you catch a suspect terrorist? Well, the Pentagon has a nice idea of doing that. It decided to bomb where suspected terrorists live in Somalia. Today the military spokesman, Bryan Whitman confirmed the attack. Whitman stated that the strike was based on reliable and accurate intelligence report. According to the Somalia’s government, the bombing killed 30 civilians and possibly the suspected orchestrator of the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings. Nice job USA!!

Imagine if an Al-Qaeda suspect is in the U.S.A, let say he lives in New York City, is the Pentagon going to bomb the New York City just to kill or to get this man? I find the strike in Somalia sick. I don’t know what the Somalia government is thinking. Yesterday, the government came out and said that the U.S has the right to attack their land. How crazy is that? Somalis, you have foreigners who launched an air strike on your land and kill your people. Instead of criticizing, you’re totally accepted the U.S action.

I just don’t get it, period.
